This is your opportunity to work with cutting-edge data technologies, collaborate with brilliant minds across the organization, and make a tangible impact on how arenaflex leverages data to drive business decisions.
About This Role
As a Data Engineer at arenaflex, you will be responsible for creating and operationalizing data pipelines that make data accessible for reporting and advanced analytics. This encompasses data ingestion, data transformation, data validation and quality assurance, pipeline development, orchestration, and close collaboration with DevOps engineers during continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
The Data Engineer – Data Analytics role is accountable for end-to-end data pipelines that power analysis and data services across the organization. You will focus on data engineering to build and deploy automated data pipelines from a multitude of internal and external data sources. Working closely with product owners, engineering teams, and data platform teams, you will design, build, test, and automate data pipelines that serve as the single source of truth throughout the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Architecture: Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across all data operations.
- Data Processing & Transformation: Develop robust ETL/ELT processes using industry-leading tools, particularly Informatica Cloud (IICS), to transform raw data into actionable insights.
- Cloud Data Solutions: Leverage Azure services including Azure SQL Data Warehouse (Synapse), Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Event Hub, and Azure Data Factory to enhance and accelerate delivery of data products and services.
- Data Modeling Collaboration: Work closely with Data Modelers to build effective data models and develop pipelines that store data in defined structures and formats.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Data Architects, Data Scientists, and BI Architects to design and maintain scalable data models and pipelines that meet evolving business requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify, plan, and implement internal process improvements — automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery mechanisms.
- Big Data & NoSQL Solutions: Implement big data and NoSQL solutions by developing scalable data processing platforms that drive high-value insights across the organization.
- Data Governance: Support the development of Data Dictionaries and Data Taxonomies for product solutions, ensuring consistent data lineage and metadata management.
- Data Quality Assurance: Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality of data management practices.
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct spontaneous data retrieval for business reports and dashboards as needed.
- Database Administration: Manage database architecture including installing and updating software, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and monitoring database migration and resource utilization.
- Technical Communication: Demonstrate the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences in both written and verbal formats.
- Peer Review: Perform peer review for other Data Engineers' work, ensuring code quality and best practices are maintained.

- Extensive experience working with multiple data sources including SQL databases, Oracle databases, flat files (CSV, delimited formats), Web APIs, and XML.
- Advanced SQL skills with a strong understanding of relational databases and business data; ability to write complex SQL queries against various data sources.
- Solid understanding of database storage concepts including data lakes, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph databases, and data warehousing.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced agile development environment.
