Supervises Positions:

JOB SUMMARY

Infusion Therapy Administration:Coordinate and administer therapeutic IV treatments and infusions, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive care agents, following established protocols and guidelines.Monitor patients closely during infusion treatments, promptly addressing and managing any complications or adverse reactions.Manage complications associated with infusion therapies, such as adverse reactions or infusion site issues.Demonstrate expertise in the insertion, care, and maintenance of intravenous (IV) lines and central venous devices.Ensure compliance with infection control practices and standards in the management of vascular access devices.Complete ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification within the first year of employment.Maintain AHA BLS certification.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.

Experience: Prior experience in oncology nursing and infusion therapy preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure: Oncology Nursing Certification – Preferred

Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally challenging environment.Knowledge of chemotherapy drugs, their administration, and potential side effects.Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant healthcare technology.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Demand Code: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment.
