Responsibilities
- Provides advanced-level human resources services to MnDOT District Six leadership, supervisors, and employees
- Ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws, rules, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements
- Serves as a subject matter expert in key HR functions, including recruitment and staffing, selection, job classification, compensation, outreach, labor relations, and contract administration
- Supports a fair, equitable, and legally compliant workplace
Skills
- Two (2) years of professional level experience in human resources demonstrating the following requirements: Experience managing hiring and selection processes
- Experience analyzing job content and determining appropriate job classifications
- Experience interpreting and applying employment laws and labor rules, such as the ADA, EEO/AA, FLSA, collective bargaining agreements, and data privacy laws
- A bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or a closely related field substitutes for one year of professional experience
- One (1) year of professional level experience in human resources demonstrating all requirements listed below
- OR Two (2) years of paraprofessional/technical experience in human resources or a related field demonstrating all requirements listed below
- A bachelor's or master's degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development or a closely related field substitutes for one (1) year of professional experience
- Experience managing hiring and selection processes
- Experience researching, analyzing, and interpreting information
- Experience creating written documents such as reports or presentations
- Experience using databases to update, track and retrieve information
- Experience communicating information to others verbally and in writing
- Experience managing hiring and selection processes
- Government/public sector human resources experience
- Experience working with the State of Minnesota classification and job evaluation system
- Experience performing recruiting or outreach activities
- Experience applying collective bargaining agreements and plans
