Hospice CNA - Join Our Care Team in Barnstable County!
Job Summary:
We are seeking per diem Hospice Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our care team at Hospice Services of Massachusetts in Barnstable County. As a Hospice CNA, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients in their homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This is an on-the-road position that requires a reliable, insured vehicle. $22 to $24 an hour with weekly pay.
Responsibilities:
Perform various services for a patient as necessary to meet their personal needs and promote comfort
Observe patient, report observations, and document observations and care performed
Provide patient and family with positive communication techniques, within the realm of ethical and respectful care
Meet the safety needs of the patient and use equipment safely and properly
Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as ordered
Provide proper care and observation of the patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominences
Assess and report on the patient's condition and significant changes to appropriate team members
Assist with ambulation, exercise, and normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed
Assist with self-administered medications as allowed by state regulations, such as "reminders"
Offer and assist with bedpans and urinals
Help with light laundry needs and plan and prepare nutritious meals, including shopping, as assigned
Perform range-of-motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service
Keep the patient's living area clean and orderly
Requirements:
Must hold an active and unencumbered CNA license in Massachusetts
Prior experience in hospice or home health preferred
