The role of Functional & System Engineer I involves contributing to the design, analysis, and support of safety-related I&C systems, while collaborating with experienced engineers and gaining hands-on experience in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining system documentation, including functional logic diagrams, specifications, and design descriptions
- Support reliability and performance analyses using established tools (e.g., Reliability Workbench) and documented methodologies
- Analyze operational or field data, identify trends, and help prepare technical summaries and reports
- Collaborate with senior engineers to support troubleshooting, evaluations, and continuous improvement activities
- Participate in project coordination, scheduling, and configuration/document control activities
- Follow established safety, quality, and regulatory processes in a safety-critical environment
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical or scientific discipline
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking and structured problem-solving to complex technical topics
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document analyses and explain technical concepts
- Comfortable working with data, models, procedures, and technical tools
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Interest in or exposure to: Reliability, risk, or systems analysis
- Safety-critical, regulated, or industrial systems
- Control systems, instrumentation, or functional logic (training provided)
