We're looking for a talented and passionate Full Stack Product Designer to join our Growth Notifications team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in crafting innovative notification experiences that connect users with content they'll love while driving measurable business outcomes. What You'll Do
As a Full Stack Product Designer in our Growth Notifications Group, you'll own the end-to-end development of notification experiences that drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention. You'll work across the full technology stack to bring these experiences to life, from backend services to frontend interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Feature Development: Design, develop, and ship notification features that enhance user experience and contribute to subscriber growth. You'll own projects from concept through deployment and optimization.
- Drive Experimentation: Implement A/B tests and multivariate experiments to optimize notification performance. You'll analyze results, iterate quickly, and scale winning strategies across our user base.
- Build Scalable Systems: Create robust backend services that power personalized notification experiences at scale. Work with billing, payments, account management, and content recommendation systems.
- Frontend Excellence: Develop beautiful, responsive email and in-product messaging experiences using modern web technologies. Leverage our in-house email frameworks to create compelling communications.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product managers, designers, data scientists, and consumer experience teams to deliver cohesive user experiences that balance business objectives with user needs.
- API Design: Design intuitive, extensible APIs that enable seamless integration between backend services and frontend experiences. Ensure our systems are built for scale and maintainability.
- Multi-Platform Development: Collaborate with Android, iOS, web, and TV UI engineers to ensure consistent, high-quality experiences across all platforms.
- Data-Informed Decision Making: Leverage analytics and user data to inform product decisions and measure the impact of your work on key business metrics.
Who You Are
We're seeking a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is passionate about creating products that make a real impact. You should be comfortable working across the full stack and enjoy tackling complex technical challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Experimentation Expertise: Demonstrated experience developing customer-facing applications through experimentation methodologies, including A/B testing and multivariate testing. You understand how to design, implement, and analyze experiments that drive meaningful results.
- Backend Development: Strong proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages. Experience building scalable, maintainable backend systems.
- Frontend Development: Solid experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript, along with modern frontend frameworks. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and templating languages like Handlebars or LESS.
- Data Engineering: Experience writing SQL queries on large data platforms such as SparkSQL, Voila, Hive, or similar technologies. Comfortable working with big data to extract actionable insights.
- API Design Skills: Track record of designing intuitive, RESTful APIs that are extensible and developer-friendly. Understanding of API best practices and documentation standards.
- System Building: Experience creating reusable, templated systems that can scale across multiple products or use cases.
- Remote Work Capability: Ability to thrive in a remote or hybrid work environment, demonstrating strong self-management skills and effective virtual collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following experiences would make you an especially strong candidate:
- Experience building backend systems that power sophisticated frontend experiences, demonstrating full-stack thinking
- Background working with product development teams in iterative, agile environments
- Experience building multi-channel engagement streams including Push notifications, SMS, messaging applications, and in-product messaging
- Familiarity with internationalization systems and ICU formatting for global audience support
- Expertise in creating responsive, interactive HTML and AMP email development experiences
- Experience building large-scale, highly scalable gRPC services
- Knowledge of constraint systems and personalization engines
