CVS Media Exchange [CMX] is now a cornerstone of arenaflex's digital ecosystem, dedicated to driving measurable results for our providers, partners, stores, general managers, brand sponsors, and agencies. Our full-channel advertising solutions leverage arenaflex's extensive online and offline data, broad reach, and commitment to delivering quantifiable outcomes for our customers. As a team supporting enterprise products (CVS Media Exchange and CVS.com/mobile application), you'll be exposed to all the specialty units within arenaflex. You'll partner closely with colleagues to understand their challenges and design analytics solutions that drive real business impact. This cross-functional collaboration provides unparalleled visibility into how data science powers decisions across the entire healthcare and retail ecosystem.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Data Scientist to join our Enterprise Digital Analytics team. In this role, you will apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to solve complex business problems and drive the evolution of digitally enabled products at arenaflex. You'll be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights that shape customer experiences, optimize marketing strategies, and improve health outcomes.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule based in our New York City office, with the flexibility to work remotely part of the time. You'll be expected to commute to the New York City office 3 days every other week, fostering collaborative innovation while maintaining work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Apply Advanced Analytics: Create and implement algorithms and statistical predictive models to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes. You'll determine scientific approaches and modeling techniques that address complex business challenges.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct investigations of structured and unstructured data to solve diverse and intricate business issues using advanced statistical techniques, mathematical analyses, and deep knowledge of the organization and industry.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across departments to understand their challenges and goals. Develop predictive modeling, statistical analysis, data reports, and performance metrics that inform strategic decisions.
- Experimentation and Testing: Design online experiments (A/B testing), measure results, and optimize for maximum impact. Leverage methodologies like causal inference and Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) to optimize tests where traditional A/B testing isn't feasible or appropriate.
- Insight Communication: Create and participate in presentations and meetings with existing and prospective stakeholders to communicate analysis results and recommended solutions effectively.
- Technical Leadership: Utilize strong expertise in algorithms and predictive models to investigate issues, identify patterns, and recommend data-driven solutions. Demonstrate advanced programming skills to analyze, compare, and interpret large volumes of data in various formats.
- Customer Journey Analysis: Analyze customer journeys to identify opportunities that drive increased adoption, engagement, retention, and conversion across digital platforms.
- Personalization Development: Build personalization capabilities using artificial intelligence to target specific audiences for relevant outreach, improving customer experience and business outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with internal and external partners and executives to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and collaborative spirit. We're looking for candidates who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about using data to drive meaningful change.
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience applying modern machine learning techniques to build predictive models for both classification and regression problems.
- Programming Skills: 3+ years of experience using Python and SQL for data analysis, manipulation, and model development.
- Communication Skills: 2+ years of experience extracting meaningful insights from analyses and interpreting results of complex models to present to business audiences, including technical, non-technical, and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Data Engineering Collaboration: 2+ years of experience preparing data for analysis, working with data engineering teams to create modeling datasets, evaluating data satisfaction and quality, and performing feature engineering.
- Advanced Analytics Tools: 2+ years of experience applying knowledge of cutting-edge analytics tools and languages to analyze large datasets from various data sources.
- Experimental Design: 2+ years of experience in experimental design and supervised/unsupervised machine learning approaches.
- Education: Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline. A PhD in a related discipline is preferred.
Preferred Capabilities

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: The typical salary range for this position is $106,605.00 - $206,000.00 annually. The actual base compensation offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an arenaflex bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base compensation range listed above.
