In this role, you will support various operational areas, including Customer Service (Ticket Counter and Gate operations) and Ground Operations (Ramp Specialist/Baggage Handler). Key Responsibilities
Ticket Counter Operations
- Welcome customers with warmth and professionalism as the first point of contact
- Guide and assist customers through the ticketing and check-in process using computer systems
- Sell, print, and reissue tickets while ensuring accurate documentation for travel
- Verify that customers have appropriate travel documentation, including passports, visas, and boarding passes
- Handle baggage tagging and coordinate the check-in process efficiently
- Assist customers with seat selection, upgrades, and special requests
- Process ticket changes, cancellations, and refunds as needed
- Maintain thorough knowledge of fare rules, route maps, and travel policies
Gate Operations
- Assist customers with routing, trip planning, and gate boarding procedures
- Use computer systems to check seat availability and manage boarding processes
- Make gate announcements regarding boarding times, flight status, and connections
- Handle checked baggage, including checking and managing luggage through the boarding process
- Coordinate the boarding process to ensure efficient aircraft turnaround
- Prepare fly lanes and positioning before aircraft arrival
- Operate aircraft doors, including opening, closing, and securing doors safely
- Monitor flight connections and assist passengers with tight connection times
Ground Operations & Ramp Services
- Safely lift, load, dump, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft
- Ensure on-time connections by directing incoming and outgoing aircraft from gate positions
- Protect baggage, cargo, and mail from damage, loss, and weather exposure
- Safely drive and operate ground equipment including tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors
- Navigate equipment through congested areas with precision and awareness
- Repeatedly lift and load items onto trucks, ensuring every bag reaches its destination
- Operate baggage scanners and computer systems to ensure items are routed correctly to passenger destinations
- Perform physical tasks involving lifting items from floor level to waist level (up to 80 pounds)
Safety and Compliance
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
