As a pharmacy technician, you'll assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, perform various pharmacy tasks, and provide exceptional customer service. You'll also have the opportunity to develop your skills in data entry, patient care, and clinical expertise. **Key Responsibilities** * Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, including the performance of other pharmacy branch duties according to employer policies and procedures. * Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions. * Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients with greeting and assistance. * Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers and provide exceptional customer service. * Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy manager, personnel Pharmacist, and store supervisor, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy. * Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow. * Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company rules and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program. * Adhere to the Walgreen Co. Policy regarding accurate dispensing throughout all applicable prescription dispensing activities. * Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle coins as required, and take customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise. * Handle telephone calls that do not require the private attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians. * Method (correct and resubmit) claims for third-party application prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the store manager. * Assist and support Pharmacy branch on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of prescription drugs. * Keep knowledge of company asset safety procedures and document claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not obtained), order mistakes or broken goods related to Rx capsules. * May assist pharmacist in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required; assists pharmacy staff in coordination of medical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics, and external vendors. * Assist Pharmacy supervisor and personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining true relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities. * Assist with outdoors and indoors maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with sufficient supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in appearance. * Comply with all company guidelines and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers. * Complete unique assignments and other responsibilities as assigned. **Education & Personal Development** * Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the unique PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration. * Attend training and complete PPLs asked by manager and acquire continuing education credit. * Maintain expertise and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments. * Through completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). **Basic Qualifications** * Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). * Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. **Preferred Qualifications** * Choose to have six months of experience in a retail environment. * Choose to have previous work experience with arenaflex. * Choose to have desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines. * Choose to have correct computer skills. * Choose to have knowledge of store inventory management. * Prefer PTCB certification. **Work Environment & Company Culture** * arenaflex is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. * Our company culture values diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being. * We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, prescription savings, retirement plans, and employee stock purchase plan. * arenaflex is committed to providing opportunities for career growth and development, including training and development programs, education assistance, and employee assistance programs. **Compensation & Perks** * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Opportunities for career growth and development. * Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. * Prescription savings and retirement plans. * Employee stock purchase plan. * Flexible work arrangements and paid time off. * Education assistance and employee assistance programs. **How to Apply** If you're a motivated and experienced pharmacy technician looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
