About the Role: Custom Circuits Design Engineer
You will be part of an exciting silicon design group responsible for crafting next-generation ASICs. We have an exceptional opportunity for Circuits Engineers to design advanced custom digital megacells—including SRAM memories, on-chip sensors, ML accelerators, and data path components—used in high-performance, low-power System-on-Chip (SoC) solutions.
This role offers the chance to work at the center of our SoC design effort, collaborating across all disciplines with a significant impact and playing a pivotal role in bringing functional products to millions of customers quickly. You'll have the opportunity to coordinate and develop groundbreaking ideas while working with a team of dedicated engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Develop Custom Circuits: Create innovative custom circuits to improve chip power efficiency and performance across various silicon products.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with power teams, physical design (PD) teams, and other engineers to define specifications and requirements for new circuit implementations.
- Perform Comprehensive Design Analysis: Execute design, analysis, modeling/simulation, circuit-level specifications, schematic capture, spice simulation/corner verification across PVT (Process, Voltage, Temperature), statistical design, functional verification, and silicon bring-up.
- Layout Integration: Work closely with the layout team to complete designs and oversee layout quality to ensure optimal performance.
- Drive Design Methodology: Develop and drive circuit strategies to achieve the highest design quality metrics across all products.
- Silicon Debug & Validation: Conduct experiments during silicon debug, manufacturing, and data analysis; utilize scripting to efficiently process ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) data.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in circuit design.
- Advanced Technology Node Expertise: Proven design experience in cutting-edge technology nodes.
- Low Voltage/Low Power Design: Strong experience in low-voltage and low-power custom circuit design.
- Deep Submicron Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of deep submicron device physics, leakage mechanisms, and technology interactions with device behavior.
- Device Characterization: Strong understanding of device matching, device noise sources (1/f, thermal), and external noise sources (supply, jitter), and their impact on high-precision circuits.
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, or similar) and CAD automation tools.
- Industry Tools: Knowledge of industry-standard circuit and design tools.
