Entry Level Litigation Associate Attorney

Wilson Elser is a leading defense litigation law firm with a commitment to teamwork and client service. They are seeking an Entry Level Litigation Associate Attorney to handle a litigation caseload, draft legal documents, attend court hearings, and negotiate settlements in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle a litigation caseload from beginning to end, under the supervision and guidance of senior attorney
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Draft case analysis reports to clients with an eye towards developing proactive resolution strategies
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients, demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment

Skills

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in the State of New York
• 1+ years of defense litigation experience
• Experience with construction (NYS Labor Law 200, 240, 241) matters, insurance defense, premises liability, and/or general liability
• Superior analytical skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and responsibly
• Experience appearing in court for OSHA hearings is a plus
• Legal project management experience is helpful
