What You'll Do
As an integral member of our Data and Analytics team, you'll collaborate closely with team members and leadership in Applications Engineering to provide vital analysis operations that support our demanding and rapidly evolving environment. Your technical expertise will be crucial in building, optimizing, and managing robust ETL pipelines that power our data infrastructure.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Implementation & Maintenance: Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal Data and Analytics and reporting processes, ensuring seamless data flow across the organization.
- Research & Innovation: Research and stay abreast of rapidly evolving data requirements, ensuring critical machine and method changes are implemented to meet those dynamic requirements.
- Process Optimization: Identify potential process improvements and recommend implementation strategies that enhance efficiency and data quality.
- Data Visualization: Develop and demonstrate information in communicating data-related topics, including reporting dashboards that drive business insights.
- System Analysis: Analyze the need for new programs or improvements to existing software to match business needs and make informed decisions about their necessity.
- Solution Architecture: Recommend solutions that adhere to enterprise standards, maintaining awareness of the impact on upstream and downstream systems and stakeholders.
- Project Management: Closely monitor projects from inception to completion and assist in User Acceptance Testing to ensure quality deliverables.
- Special Projects: Work on special projects related to data as assigned, contributing to various initiatives across the organization.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a candidate who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment and is comfortable with data warehousing concepts. To succeed in this role, you'll need strong data engineering skills, outstanding interpersonal communication, and experience building, optimizing, and managing ETL pipelines.
Essential Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of previous experience as a Data Engineer or equivalent experience in a related role.
- Visualization Tools: Experience with Tableau or any data visualization tool, along with knowledge of Data Warehousing and Data Modeling concepts.
- Database Expertise: Strong experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL, and Vertica. Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Workflow Automation: Experience with user-defined workflows (e.g., Airflow or similar ETL orchestration tools).
- Streaming Data: Experience with writing Kafka clients and producers for real-time data processing.
- Problem-Solving: A problem-solver who is action-oriented with the ability to view challenges from new perspectives.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capability to design effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Apache Spark Streaming and Hive
- Working knowledge of data management software like Airflow or other ETL tools
- Understanding of big data technologies and cloud platforms
- Experience with data pipeline architecture and optimization
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows and MLOps practices

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive Pay:
$30 - $40/Hour salary commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. Additionally, you'll be eligible for cash and stock awards that recognize your contributions to our success.
