Main Street Gardnerville seeks an enthusiastic and organized Community Events & Volunteer Coordinator to assist in planning and executing downtown events and community initiatives. This part-time position plays an important role in bringing Gardnerville’s downtown to life through signature fundraising events, festivals, and programs, in partnership with local businesses and organizations. The coordinator will assist with event logistics, coordination, volunteer recruitment, and day-of-event operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys community engagement, event planning, and working in a collaborative nonprofit environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the planning and execution of Main Street Gardnerville events, which may include:Third Thursday Wine WalksWe Run This Town 5k run seriesAnnual Coffin Races and Fall FestivalDía De Los Muertos FestivalMain Street MondaysI Scream for Main Street – Volunteer Recruitment Candy Cane Main – Shop Main StreetResponsibilities Include:Coordinating event vendors and applicationsAssisting with event logistics, maps, and suppliesCommunicating with vendors and participantsAssisting with event registration systemsProviding on-site event support and coordination VOLUNTEER COORDINATION:Recruit and manage volunteers for events and community projects.Responsibilities Include:Recruiting Volunteers through outreach and community networksMaintaining a volunteer contact list and databaseScheduling volunteers for events and projectsCommunicating event needs and volunteer assignmentsTracking volunteer participation and hours EVENT OPERATIONS SUPPORTAssist with administrative and operational tasks related to events and programs.Examples Include:Monitoring event registration and applicationsAssisting with event promotion through social media and newslettersCoordinating event materials, signage, and equipment Supporting Main Street Gardnerville committees and initiatives as needed.
