Job Summary 

 

The Cloud Communications Engineer is a hands-on role responsible for supporting day-to-day operations across Microsoft Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 collaboration services. This role focuses on operational execution, mail flow management, messaging reliability, and supporting collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams to ensure consistent and effective communication across the organization. 

 

The Cloud Communications Engineer includes administering Exchange Online, managing mail flow and message hygiene, supporting mailbox and group-related functionality, and assisting with collaboration platform requests. The Cloud Communications Engineer works closely with Cloud Operations (Identity) and Cloud Engineering teams to ensure alignment with access models, standards, and overall platform design. 

 

The Cloud Communications Engineer is focused on operational excellence, process consistency, and continuous improvement of messaging and collaboration workflows. 

 

Key areas of responsibility include Exchange Online administration (mail flow, transport rules, anti-spam policies, and message tracing), mailbox and shared mailbox management, Microsoft Teams and collaboration platform support, and operational support within Microsoft 365 environments. The role also includes cross-tenant collaboration and identity management, including support for Microsoft Entra Multi-Tenant Organization (MTO) configurations, cross-tenant user lifecycle management, and the design and delivery of entitlement management solutions such as access packages to enable secure, governed access across organizational boundaries. 

 

The Cloud Communications Engineer receives general direction on day-to-day work and guidance on new initiatives. This role is expected to manage assigned responsibilities independently, follow established standards, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support ongoing messaging and collaboration needs.
