What You'll Do
As a Pharmacy Technician at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Customer Interaction: Greet and assist customers with warmth and professionalism, providing exceptional service that creates memorable experiences. Resolve customer issues promptly and ensure every interaction leaves a positive impression.
- Prescription Processing: Utilize our advanced pharmacy systems to accurately obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and ensure all data is entered correctly and efficiently.
- Medication Preparation: Under pharmacist supervision, retrieve, count, and pour pharmaceutical tablets; verify medication accuracy; and check for possible drug interactions to ensure patient safety.
- Quality Assurance: Report any prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to strict company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs.
- Compliance: Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policies, including maintaining compliance with the arenaflex Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Financial Transactions: Register all related income on assigned cash registers, handle cash appropriately, and direct customers to over-the-counter products when possible.
- Claims Processing: Correctly process and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
- Inventory Management: Support pharmacy department inventory activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing prescription drug shipments. Maintain awareness of company asset protection techniques and document any discrepancies.
- Clinical Support: May assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required.
- Community Relations: Assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers through outreach activities.
- Department Maintenance: Assist with ensuring the pharmacy department is adequately stocked, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
What We're Looking For
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for customer service
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and weighing medications
- Good computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months or more of experience in a retail environment
- Previous work experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
- Previous experience with arenaflex (our company)
- Strong math skills to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines
- Proficient computer skills
- Knowledge of store inventory management
- PTCB Certification (or willingness to obtain through our program)

- Academic Credit: Upon completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, your experience qualifies for 8 (eight) university credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). This coursework is recommended for 3 semester hours at the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category and 5 semester hours in the upper-division baccalaureate degree category.
