Tasks & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with regional CRAFFT Coordinators to accept referrals for pre-service training from Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS)
Provide pre-service and inservice training in Spanish (and English as needed) for prospective kinship, foster, and adoptive parents using designated approved VDSS curricula (e.g., NTDC)
Create process and coordinate pre-service and inservice training for all non english speaking families with CRAFFT coordinators and local DSS agencies to ensure accessibility and appropriate language resource provision
Facilitate group and one-on-one pre-service training in Spanish (and English as needed), including scheduled series and make-up sessions
Develop flexible training schedules to accommodate families’ diverse needs (daytime, evening, weekend, and creative scheduling)
Maintain a weekly and monthly calendar of training; document all scheduled, completed, and cancelled sessions
Attend and present information as needed at regularly scheduled regional roundtable meetings with LDSS staff and stakeholders to provide resources regarding resource parent development and training
Work with CRAFFT Program Manager and coordinators to support statewide CRAFFT initiatives and special projects
Complete as needed the entire home study process for kinship care, foster care and adoption, including the completion of Mutual Family Assessments (MFA) in Spanish (and English as needed)
Attend and observe prospective families in pre-service training to follow up on issues or concerns raised by trainers or agency staff.
Create process and coordinate MFA for all non english speaking families with MFA Supervisors and local DSS agencies to ensure accessibility and appropriate language resource provision
Submit written reports as required
Participate in monthly conference calls and travel as needed to attend statewide meetings and trainings
Other duties as assigned
Special Requirements
Occasional travel throughout Virginia is required and is on an as needed basis
This is a telework position that requires a flexible schedule, including frequent night and weekend work to accommodate family training and assessment needs
