The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for three (3) teaching faculty positions at the rank of Teaching Associates, with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2026, or thereafter. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a 100% virtual, full-time basis (two (2) at .90 FTE and one (1) at .70 FTE) for a twelve-month, annual appointment beginning September 1, 2026, or thereafter.  

The base salary range for this position will be $11,544 - $15,630 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Please note, this represents only the base salary.

The successful candidate will be expected to complete the following essential functions and duties for this role. This list is not exhaustive and does not describe all performance standards expected.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This role seeks to provide virtual health care to patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) seeking to initiate buprenorphine, or seeking a bridge prescription for patients who have an unexpected gap in existing care. The Virtual Addiction Care clinic will serve a variety of patients including those over the age of 13, pregnant patients, and those with a variety of comorbidities. Visits are on-demand, low-barrier and synchronous telehealth visits using video or audio-only technology.  Interpreter services are available for patients who do not speak English as their primary language.  This position will work closely with our Linkage to Care Coordinators (LTCC’s) that help link patients to longitudinal care in their area.  This role centers on ensuring that every patient encounter receives efficient, accessible, high quality, respectful and responsive health care for OUD.
